virtual CIO & CISO
Board-level technology and security leadership on demand: roadmaps, budgets, vendor management, and compliance. A fractional CISO and CIO for Iowa businesses, without the six-figure salary.
The problem
Six-Figure Decisions Deserve an Executive
Every year your business signs technology contracts, renews cyber insurance, answers a security questionnaire from a big customer, and budgets for hardware, software, and risk. At most small companies, nobody owns those decisions; they land on whoever is closest, and the vendors know it.
A virtual CIO and CISO gives those decisions an owner. Netbringer brings the roadmap, the budget forecast, the vendor negotiations, the risk assessments, and the compliance oversight of a chief officer, scaled to the hours a small business actually needs. You get executive judgment sharpened over 23 years of running IT and security for Iowa businesses, for a fraction of one executive salary.

Questions
Fractional Leadership, Answered
What is a fractional CISO?
A chief information security officer who works for you part-time: owning risk assessments, security strategy, compliance, and incident readiness, at a fraction of the cost of a full-time executive. For most Iowa small businesses it’s the only practical way to get that seniority on the team.
What's the difference between a vCIO and a vCISO?
The vCIO owns technology direction: roadmap, budget, vendors, projects. The vCISO owns security: risk, governance, compliance, incident readiness. At small-business scale the two overlap constantly, which is why we deliver them as one engagement.
Can you help with cyber insurance questionnaires?
Yes, and it’s one of the most common reasons businesses call us. We complete the questionnaire with you honestly, close the gaps that would raise premiums or jeopardize coverage, and keep the evidence organized for renewal time.
Do we need this if we already use your managed cybersecurity?
They’re complementary. Managed cybersecurity runs the day-to-day defenses; the vCISO sets direction, owns risk, and answers to auditors, insurers, and customers. Many clients start with one and add the other.
How many hours a month does this take?
Less than you’d think. After an initial deep-dive, most businesses need a few hours a month of executive attention plus the quarterly review. We scope it to your size and regulatory load, and you can change it as the business changes.
