mobile device security

Phones and tablets carry your company data everywhere. Mobile device management, encryption, remote wipe, and policy enforcement keep every device, company-owned or BYOD, inside your security perimeter.

The problem

Your Office Walks Out the Door Every Night.

Half your company’s email, files, and chat now lives on devices you’ve never configured: personal phones in pockets, tablets in trucks, laptops at kitchen tables. When one goes missing, or an employee leaves with company data still syncing, there’s usually no plan beyond hoping it had a passcode.

Mobile device management puts the plan in place. Company data lives in a managed, encrypted space on each device; lost hardware gets located, locked, or wiped remotely; leavers are offboarded in minutes without touching their personal photos. BYOD stops being an honor system and becomes a written policy your team actually agreed to, enforced by configuration rather than memos.

What’s included

What Mobile Device Security Includes

Six protections for the devices that leave the building. Together they deliver Layer 10 of the 22 Layers of Cybersecurity.

Device Enrollment & MDM

Company and BYOD devices enrolled in minutes, with settings, Wi-Fi, and email configured automatically and kept consistent.

Encryption Everywhere

Full-device and workspace encryption enforced, so a lost phone is a hardware problem, not a data problem.

Find, Lock & Remote Wipe

Missing devices located and locked; company data wiped remotely when a device isn’t coming back, without touching personal photos.

BYOD Policy That’s Fair

A written policy separating company data from personal life, agreed to up front, enforced by configuration instead of trust.

App & Identity Controls

Approved apps managed centrally, MFA on the accounts that matter, and conditional access that blocks sign-ins from unmanaged devices.

Lifecycle & Offboarding

New hires productive on day one, leavers offboarded in minutes, and devices retired with their data verifiably removed.

Mobile and BYOD security is its own layer in our defense-in-depth framework, because the perimeter now travels. See all twenty-two.

Questions

Mobile Security, Answered

What is MDM, and do small businesses need it?

Mobile device management is software that configures, protects, and, when needed, wipes the phones, tablets, and laptops that carry company data. If your team reads email on personal phones, you already have the exposure; MDM for a small business is how you get the control without buying everyone a second phone.

Can you manage employees' personal phones without invading privacy?

Yes, and this is the part worth getting right. Modern BYOD management creates a separate managed workspace for company apps and data; we can see and wipe that workspace, not personal messages, photos, or browsing. The policy spells the boundary out, so everyone signs knowing it.

What happens when an employee leaves?

Offboarding takes minutes: accounts disabled, the company workspace wiped from their devices, and access reviewed. Compare that with the usual alternative, which is hoping a former employee’s phone eventually stops syncing payroll.

What does mobile device management cost?

A small per-device monthly amount, typically bundled into a managed agreement. It’s among the least expensive layers to run, and it addresses one of the most common ways small-business data walks away. We’ll scope it from a simple device count.

Does this tie into the rest of our security?

Completely. Device management feeds the same monitoring and identity controls as our managed cybersecurity program; an unmanaged device is the gap the other layers can’t cover.

Bring Every Device Inside the Perimeter

Start with the free self-assessment, or ask for a device inventory review: what’s touching company data today, and what it would take to manage it.
